Overview

To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs, ensuring activities related to WFP’s emergency programme scale-up and related work are undertaken and coordinated.


Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute towards the development of projects, plans and processes.
  • Provide project management support to specific programmes and projects.
  • Follow data gathering and monitoring systems.
  • Research and analyse policy and operational issues.
  • Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting.
  • Liaise with internal counterparts to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships.
  • Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government.
  • Provide guidance to support staff.
Required Experience
  • One (1) or more years of postgraduate professional experience (after completion of Advanced University degree) or three (3) years or more after completion of First University degree in implementing humanitarian activities.
  • Experience in supporting and/or implementing projects addressing food security of vulnerable populations.
  • Experience in partnership management.
Qualifications

Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.

Languages Required
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic language.
Languages Preferred
French is a plus.
