Overview
Supervising and monitoring construction and rehabilitation projects to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, budgets, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and monitoring construction and rehabilitation projects.
- Conducting site inspections.
- Certifying contractor works.
- Reviewing and managing Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Ensuring adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
- Reporting progress and any deviations.
- Developing detailed design plans for refurbishment and maintenance.
- Preparing, reviewing, and seeking approval of technical designs, BoQs, and other project documentation.
- Reviewing contractor’s progress reports.
- Providing progress reports after each monitoring visit.
- Coordinating with IOM Project Manager to deliver regular reports.
- Visiting the contractor on site on a weekly basis.
- Submitting relevant calculations when required.
Required Experience
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in supervision of civil works, including preparation and review of BoQs, cost estimates, and design documentation in line with national standards and codes. Experience with international organizations, humanitarian, or development projects preferred.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
