Overview
The Communications Assistant will support UNV's communication efforts in Lusophone and Spanish speaking countries, coordinating activities and acting as a focal point for communication across assigned countries.
Key Responsibilities
- - Serve as the primary communication focal point for assigned countries.
- - Coordinate and implement the regional communication plan and activities.
- - Facilitate information sharing and collaboration among UNV Field Units and the regional communications team.
- - Ensure communications activities are co-branded with UN partners.
- - Support, monitor, and report on international day celebrations.
- - Undertake communications-targeted in-country monitoring missions.
- - Support targeted talent outreach activities.
- - Support the development and dissemination of storytelling content.
- - Collect and document testimonials from UN Volunteers and UN partners.
- - Create compelling narratives for country-specific newsletters and webpages.
- - Manage and update active social media accounts.
- - Create engaging social media content.
- - Analyze social media trends and provide recommendations.
- - Prepare social media cards and tailored emails.
- - Provide a quarterly report on communication activities.
- - Provide inputs and recommendations for regional communication reports and analyses.
Required Experience
- Progressive and relevant professional experience in communications, social media, or journalism.
- Experience in the development sector, preferably with the UN or international NGOs in West and Central Africa is a plus.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
