Overview
Consultant to provide expertise in ICT/Digital Policy, Regulatory, Economic and Market for Africa, supporting the Telecommunication Development Bureau in developing frameworks and strategies for digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out assigned tasks in the area of specialization.
- Ensure all tasks are completed according to schedule.
- Prepare reports/presentations as per assigned responsibilities.
- Provide requested documents to ITU.
- Participate in scheduled face-to-face and online meetings.
- Develop detailed analysis on policy, regulatory, economic and market trends.
- Contribute to the creation of topical digital policy, regulatory, economic and market content.
- Develop training content and deliver training.
- Implement research activities and communicate findings.
Required Experience
- At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of the Special Service Agreement (SSA).
- Very good knowledge of the telecom/ICT environment and digital ecosystem, mainly in the Africa Region.
- Extensive experience in ICT policy, regulatory and market analysis, mainly in the Africa Region.
Qualifications
- University degree in Telecommunication/ICTs, law, economics, public affairs and international relations, international development, management, engineering, political or social sciences or a related field, OR education from a reputed college of advanced education with a diploma of equivalent standard to that of a university degree in one of the fields above.
- An advanced university degree would be an advantage.
