Overview
The consultant will develop and submit policy papers, studies, and guidance documents on drug control in the Arab region, and develop academic and training materials for the Higher Diploma in Drug Control.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct desk research and compile relevant sources, data, and references.
- Draft policy papers, studies, and technical documents in Arabic.
- Support referencing, formatting, version control, and incorporation of comments.
- Contribute to the development of strategic and analytical content related to drug control trends, prevention, and demand reduction.
- Support the development and implementation of lectures and training materials.
- Contribute to the development of advanced academic content and programme components.
- Contribute technical and substantive expertise in the mid-term review of the GCC Drug Control Strategy and formulation of recommendations.
Required Experience
- At least ten (10) years of professional experience in drug control, criminal justice, law enforcement, crime and justice prevention and/or related areas, is required.
- Practical experience in conducting research and capacity-building (training, mentoring, etc.) in the field of drug control is required.
- Knowledge in the field of drug control, particularly the international regime on both drug control and crime prevention (conventions, standards and norms), is desirable.
- Experience in delivering training and/or technical assistance in the GCC and or the MENA region is desirable.
Qualifications
• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in law, criminology, or other related social sciences is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with an additional two (2) years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
