Overview

The Senior Human Resources Associate will be responsible and accountable for managing the resources management functions of the Country Office (CO) including its Sub-Offices and the Special Liaison Office (SLO) in Ethiopia.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring Human Resources management functions.
  • Participate in evaluation of staffing needs and coordinate recruitment processes.
  • Coordinate pre-employment activities.
  • Perform assigned roles in the organizational HR system and monitor data accuracy.
  • Monitor attendance and leave administration.
  • Carry-out, coordinate and monitor a wide range of Human Resource actions.
  • Prepare, coordinate and monitor all reports on personnel matters.
  • Update and maintain electronic and physical archiving systems.
  • Monitor compliance with the performance evaluation process.
  • Plan and coordinate the organization of Human Resource events.
  • Assist in analyzing and resolving sensitive cases.
  • Provide information to managers and staff on rights, responsibilities, code of conduct and entitlements.
  • Handle all enquiries on Human Resources matters.
  • Assist in supervising the preparation of the monthly payroll for national staff.
  • Coordinate the contractual status and administration of entitlements of International Staff.
  • Act as Officer in Charge in the absence of HR Officer.
  • Participate in inter-agency Human Resources related working groups.
  • Guide, coordinate and supervise the work of staff in the unit.
Required Experience
  • High School diploma with seven years of relevant experience; or, Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field with five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Prior work experience in an administration unit with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in recruitment, payroll management, time management, performance management and organization management.
  • Varied and in-depth practical experience in human resources and administration management, preferably in the UN system or international environment.

  • High School diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field
