Overview
The Project Control Associate supports oversight of projects, including monitoring, quality assurance, and verification. This role complements programme management by reviewing project agreements, monitoring financial and operational performance, and tracking project risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- - Contribute to reviewing internal control systems of implementing partners.
- Contribute to reviewing that IP agreements conform with Country Operation Plans and UNHCR's rules, policies and procedures.
- Monitor that a complete record is maintained for all projects.
- Contribute to reviewing, analysing and verifying Financial and Performance Implementing Partner Reports.
- Ensure funds obligated under an IP agreement permit payment of the next instalment or disbursement.
- Support timely project closure.
- Bring significant variances in budget execution, project execution percentage, time schedule, and quality of projects to the attention of supervisors.
- Maintain professional relationships with implementing partners.
- Keep up to date with UNHCR rules, regulations and procedures.
- Escalate IP issues to supervisors.
- Recommend acceptance or non-acceptance of IPRs and payment of installments.
- Contact implementing partners for project-related matters.
- Support the identification and management of risks and opportunities impacting objectives.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
3 years relevant experience with High School Diploma; or 2 years relevant work experience with Bachelor or equivalent or higher.
Qualifications
Certificates and/or Licenses: Accounting; Auditing; Business Administration; Finance; Project Management.
