Overview

Provide support in coordinating project activities related to the provision of assistance and protection of Unaccompanied Migrant Children (UMC) residing in shelters.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation and compliance of child protection policy.
  • Assist with the coordination of protection activities.
  • Propose, draft, and regularly update standard operating procedure (SOP) and other tools.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to Shelter Coordinators on protection-related issues.
  • Conduct regular on-site monitoring visits and attend protection field meetings.
  • Contribute to the preparation of monthly project reports and verification of supporting documentation.
  • Maintain regular communication with counterpart donors, partners, and relevant Greek national authorities.
  • Actively participate in recruitment processes; and provide support in training and monitoring of shelter staff.
  • Bring to the attention of the Project Coordinator any possible setbacks and operational constraints. Propose solutions and provide support in addressing the challenges.
  • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
  • Minimum five years of related work experience in a humanitarian setting required.
  • Progressive experience in coordination of protection activities, demonstrating a good understanding of international protection protocols.
  • Experience working in a coordination and/or management role.
  • Experience working in accommodation facility for migrants, particularly UMCs, is preferred.
  • Experience working with national-funded projects an advantage.
  • Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities and stakeholders, working in international organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Humanities, Psychosocial Sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
  • Master’s degree in above fields is an advantage.
  • Training in one or more of below subjects an advantage: child protection; the protection of unaccompanied minors; vulnerability management; the reception of applicants for international protection; the integration of recognized beneficiaries of international protection.
