Overview
Provide occupational health services and support to IOM Employees and non-staff. Responsibilities include managing medical examinations, assessing insurance matters, supporting sick leave and occupational accident claims, and coordinating medical travel and evacuations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review medical examinations and assess fitness for work.
- Assess insurance exclusions and authorize extended coverage.
- Review occupational accident and illness claims.
- Manage sick leaves and coordinate return-to-work plans.
- Assess supporting documents for special education grant and disabled child allowance.
- Assess degree of non-occupational residual impairment.
- Recommend, authorize, and coordinate medical travel and emergency medical evacuations.
- Provide occupational health and safety management advice.
- Propose and develop health promotion projects.
- Perform medical clearances for official travel and recommend health travel advice.
- Undertake travel for health risk assessments.
Required Experience
- Minimum seven years’ experience in occupational health, including in the context of travel and tropical medicine.
- Experience in liaising with international organizations will be an asset.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Medicine from an accredited academic institution.
- Valid medical license is a must.
- Specialization in General Medicine, Occupational Health, Travel Medicine, or Infectious Diseases is an advantage.
