Overview
The Nutrition Outreach Nurse/Assistant will implement CMAM, outreach programs, MIYCN activities, and SFP in specified locations. The role involves working with health facility staff and MOH staff to develop work plans, conduct outreach, and supervise community health volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement CMAM, outreach program, MIYCN activities and SFP.
- Work with health facility staff in developing movement and work plans.
- Work with MOH staff in conducting outreach.
- Formation, training and supervising community Health Volunteers, MTMSG and MTMC to carry out routine MUAC screening.
- Screening of SAM children at OTP sites and facilitate referral of sick children.
- Identification and training of the community in active case finding, referral and defaulter tracing.
- Ensure program implementation in accordance with IRC policies and procedures.
- Ensure all criteria are respected and understood by the teams.
- Ensure comprehensive health checks and treatment according to protocols.
- Review forms completed by MOH staff.
- Ensure adequate availability of medical and therapeutic supplies.
- Follow-up and provide feedback on treatment supplies.
- Follow and respect current protocols for drug administration.
- Add activities linked to health and nutrition education.
- Follow treatment of beneficiaries during home visits.
- Participate in the follow-up of orders and consumption.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
- Be flexible as required.
- Ensure timely submission of reports and accurateness.
- Take responsibility of site.
- Appropriate handover when going on leave.
- Support in the development of an effective outreach strategy.
- Capacity building and training of local government and partner staff.
- Report on progress and any problems in a timely manner.
- Ensure cases not meeting admission criteria return home.
- Provide effective follow-up of all cases.
- Provide key health and education messages to beneficiaries.
- Respond to inquiries regarding technical aspects of the program.
- Follow-up and ensure the field team interacts with beneficiaries properly.
- Compile statistical data and draft a report on activities.
- Establish good relationship with authorities and community leaders.
- Establish a network with other actors in the working area.
- Establish a good understanding of the program within the community.
- Establish link and meetings with community leaders and different groups.
