Overview
The Case Management Officer is responsible for conducting all steps of the child protection case management process for assigned children vulnerable to violence, abuse, exploitation, and neglect, and their families. The main objective is to ensure children harmed or at risk receive individual case management support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide quality case management services to children.
- Guide children and families through the case management process.
- Provide psychosocial and emotional support to children and families.
- Conduct safe referrals to essential services and follow-up.
- Liaise with community members, service providers, NGO partners, and government stakeholders.
- Maintain an up-to-date service mapping.
- Participate in inter-agency case conferences.
- Engage in capacity building opportunities.
- Participate in regular case management meetings.
- Prepare for and participate in regular structured individual supervision sessions.
- Assess and write BID reports for children.
- Adhere to the Child Protection Policy, Safeguarding policy, and Code of Conduct.
- Provide feedback on written documents and programming design.
- Monitor/assess the safety and security of field teams.
- Perform any other duty delegated by the supervisor.
Required Experience
- Previous work experience in community development or with an NGO (preferably in child protection).
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience working with children.
- Experience managing child protection cases in a sensitive and child friendly manner.
- Experience working with case files and databases and providing regular documentation.
- Experience working with IDPs, refugees and returnees (desired).
Qualifications
• Minimum of Bachelors in Social work, Counselling Psychology, Social Sciences or relevant discipline.
