Overview

Develop a pilot list of core gender-sensitive climate change indicators and respective methodological guidance, and support capacity building activities in pilot countries.


Key Responsibilities
  • Review documentation and inputs, develop an inception note and outline.
  • Identify potential indicators and organize them into a coherent structure.
  • Propose selection criteria for core indicators.
  • Develop a concise pilot list of core gender-sensitive climate change indicators.
  • Draft methodological guidance for each proposed core indicator.
  • Develop a standardized metadata template and complete it for each indicator.
  • Conduct structured consultations to validate indicators and guidance.
  • Facilitate capacity building activities and participate in national workshops and meetings.
  • Revise the pilot list of indicators and methodological guidance iteratively.
  • Prepare a final draft of a publication.
  • Prepare presentation materials.
Required Experience

A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in writing reports and/or research papers on statistics as an expert in the field are required. Experience in gender and/or environment statistics is required. Experience of working with governments, non-government organizations or international organizations is desirable.

Qualifications

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in statistics, gender studies, environmental sciences or a related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
