Overview
Engage an international expert to train inspectors on international best practices for scrap and waste material inspections, including sampling methods and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Review relevant Egyptian laws, regulations, and decrees.
- Prepare training materials on the inspection of scrap and waste products (metal and plastic), covering the Basel Convention, SOP for sampling, on-site checklists, and safety procedures.
- Deliver training to GOEIC Inspectors.
- Prepare a final report including training materials, trainee evaluation, and recommendations.
Required Experience
- At least seven (7) years of proven professional experience in scrap/waste management, inspection, regulation, or control of transboundary movements of waste, including practical exposure to import/export inspection systems.
- At least three (3) years of hands-on experience in field inspection and sampling of scrap/waste consignments (metal and/or plastic), preferably at ports, customs points, or inspection sites.
- Demonstrated experience developing SOPs / inspection checklists / sampling protocols and applying risk-based inspection approaches.
- At least three (3) years of proven training and capacity-building experience delivering technical training to inspectors/regulators, including preparation of training materials and trainee evaluation.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree in Environmental Engineering/Science, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, Waste Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a closely related discipline, is required.
