Overview

The intern will support the Sub-regional Office for Eastern Africa (SRO-EA) in producing analytical elements for documents and reports, researching sustainable economic development, and liaising with stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities
  • Produces analytical, quantitative and qualitative elements required for the elaboration of documents and reports;
  • Research and analyze topics relating to sustainable economic development in Eastern Africa;
  • Draft and edit publications, papers and other documents;
  • Liaise with SRO-EA stakeholders on key development topics for Africa;
  • Support organization of meetings and events;
  • Assist with outreach activities;
  • Participate in day-to-day operational tasks of SRO-EA;
  • Performs administrative tasks as assigned.
Required Experience

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme.

Qualifications

Applicants must be enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher); or if pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages, have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree. Knowledge of MS Office.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
