Overview

The Humanitarian & Resilience Management Coordinator will focus on Disaster Risk Management (DRM) and resilience projects, including the Australian Humanitarian Partnership (AHP). The role involves monitoring, capacity-building support, and developing new partnerships to ensure quality processes and outcomes, with a focus on child rights, gender equality, and inclusion.


Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and provide capacity-building support to program and partner organisations.
  • Ensure quality processes and outcomes, with a particular focus on striving for best practice in child rights, gender equality and inclusion.
  • Develop new partnerships and support existing ones.
Required Experience
  • Experience working on disaster risk & resilience and disaster response programming in Solomon Islands.
  • Project management cycle experience and/or training.
  • Demonstrated experience in capacity-building of local NGO and/or CBO partners in Solomon Islands.
  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships and partnerships to produce results.
  • Understanding of and ability to develop strong partnership relationships with government and civil society organisations.
  • Understanding of, and/or experience in, rights-based approaches and previous international experience with child rights issue.
  • Experience or familiarity with AHP (or other DRM and resilience programming e.g., CAPSI, etc) would be an advantage.
Qualifications

• Tertiary level qualification in relevant field would be an advantage.
