Overview
Project Manager responsible for the management and implementation of designated projects within the Energy and Environment Unit, ensuring results align with project documents and UNDP procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate projects, manage day-to-day operations, budgeting, planning, and monitoring.
- Develop Annual Work Plans and support Project Board decision-making.
- Prepare for Project Board meetings, document decisions, and coordinate exit strategies.
- Provide policy advice and support capacity development of national counterparts.
- Develop and implement M&E plans, monitor progress, and manage risks.
- Ensure timely preparation of donor and project reports.
- Oversee financial monitoring and maintain risk and issue logs.
- Coordinate partner meetings and field visits.
- Support mid-term reviews and terminal evaluations.
- Track implementation of cross-cutting plans.
- Utilize Quantum and digital tools for data management.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with stakeholders.
- Identify and mobilize new partnerships and funding sources.
- Facilitate knowledge and capacity building activities.
- Promote advocacy for UNDP’s work.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, and/or hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation, leading and managing development projects.
- Experience in the use of computers, office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and web-based management systems, and advanced knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
Qualifications
- Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social, Economic, Environmental Sciences, or other related sciences is required; or
- A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above with additional 2 years of qualifying experience.
