Overview
Consultant to advise on an Environmental, Social and Governance Due Diligence System (ESG) for the Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI) in Kenya. The role involves implementing ESG readiness assessments, developing enterprise profiles, and collecting baseline data on socio-economic and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and implement recommendations of ESG readiness assessments.
- Brief, coordinate, and train local social enterprise and group leaders.
- Conduct assessments of social and environmental sustainability along the EFI supply network in Kenya.
- Carry out relevant track and tracing mechanisms of value chains.
- Draft related reports, including recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations.
- Conduct baselines for new organizations to the EFI network.
- Carry out regular impact assessments and compile order-based impact assessment reports.
- Provide support to the production team instituting all ESG components and analysis for each product type.
Required Experience
- Extensive and relevant experience in impact assessment in the context of community development may be accepted in lieu of the university degree.
- Experience working in development context in Kenya.
- Experience in working in the artisan sector.
- Experience with coordinating and leading groups is an added advantage.
Qualifications
• Graduate degree (MA/MSc/MBA, or other) in related humanities.
