Overview

The intern will assist the Nature for Health (N4H) Team in organizing meetings and workshops, developing communications materials, drafting technical documents, and conducting research to support project activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Nature for Health (N4H) Team in organizing meetings and workshops, including preparing documents and managing logistics.
  • Support in developing key communications materials, in print, online and for social media.
  • Support in drafting technical documents.
  • Assist with communication with partners, consultants, implementers etc. on programmatic activities.
  • Support in the undertaking of targeted desktop research to compile background information, facts, data and other pieces to inform technical inputs.
  • Assist in tracking key policy developments.
  • Support in other tasks as required.
Required Experience

Demonstrated experience in sustainable development is desirable; Experience in organising events, conferences or meetings is desirable.

Qualifications
  • Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); OR be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Master's Degree or currently enrolled in a Master's Programme in health sciences, One Health, environmental management, biodiversity conservation and management, development studies, social sciences or a related field is required.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications.
  • Have demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
  • Background in One Health, environmental management, biodiversity conservation and management, development studies, social sciences or a related field is required.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
