Overview
The Reporting and Communication Officer will support the PROMIS project and OHCHR/WARO by enhancing reporting and visibility through communication activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare donor reports and reports on the Human Rights situation in PROMIS project implementation countries.
- Draft, review, and edit periodic reports on the human rights situation, focusing on migrants' rights.
- Contribute to the preparation of donor reports using provided information.
- Contribute to briefing notes, background notes, and talking points for meetings with external partners.
- Contribute to the integration of gender perspectives in all activities.
- Maintain and design database and archival systems.
- Develop and implement a communication strategy for the PROMIS Project.
- Improve project visibility through online presence and multimedia content.
- Support liaison with advocacy partners and outreach to civil society and governments.
- Evaluate the results and impact of communication activities.
- Perform any other relevant tasks as requested by the supervisor.
Required Experience
- 0 to 1 years' relevant experience in communications and reporting is required;
- Excellent reporting skills and proven experience drafting human rights analytical reports required;
- Experience of community engagement outreach in Senegal using Wolof language is required;
- Experience in communication and organising public events;
- Solid command of the usage of computers, office software packages, or knowledge of graphic design is required;
- Experience in working on social networks and ability to enhance visibility on all relevant social platforms is required ;
- Experience working within the UN system or OHCHR is required ;
- Experience working on migration or proven knowledge of migration issues in West Africa is desirable ;
- Experience designing and /or conducting communication campaigns is an asset ;
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communication, Human rights, & Other communications-related expertise.
