Overview
The Associate Logistics Officer (Logistics and Supplies) will plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day logistics, freight, correspondence, supply, and support service activities to ensure cost-effective and timely service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and supervise day-to-day logistics, freight, correspondence, supply and support service activities.
- Identify and estimate budget requirements for freight, courier services, office supplies and other support services.
- Assist in developing, documenting and maintaining standard operating procedures, workflows, operational standards and related administrative instructions.
- Lead in defining scope of work for logistics- and supplies-related tenders.
- Support the administration and performance monitoring of service contracts, vendors and insurance portfolio arrangements.
- Coordinate the tracking of assets and inventory, review and maintain logistics and warehouse equipment and their maintenance requirements.
- Assist the supervisor supporting human resources functions, including training, capacity building of staff, and performance appraisals.
Required Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in logistics and/or supply chain operations is required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in supervision of a team is required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft standard applications and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), preferably SAP is required.
- Professional experience in an international organisation within the UN common system or similar organisations is desirable.
- Proven professional experience in warehouse operations is desirable.
- Proven experience in dealing with vendors and administration of contracts is desirable.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree in business administration, logistics operations or supply chain management. A first level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience is accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
