Overview

The Associate Logistics Officer (Logistics and Supplies) will plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day logistics, freight, correspondence, supply, and support service activities to ensure cost-effective and timely service delivery.


Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise day-to-day logistics, freight, correspondence, supply and support service activities.
  • Identify and estimate budget requirements for freight, courier services, office supplies and other support services.
  • Assist in developing, documenting and maintaining standard operating procedures, workflows, operational standards and related administrative instructions.
  • Lead in defining scope of work for logistics- and supplies-related tenders.
  • Support the administration and performance monitoring of service contracts, vendors and insurance portfolio arrangements.
  • Coordinate the tracking of assets and inventory, review and maintain logistics and warehouse equipment and their maintenance requirements.
  • Assist the supervisor supporting human resources functions, including training, capacity building of staff, and performance appraisals.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in logistics and/or supply chain operations is required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in supervision of a team is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft standard applications and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), preferably SAP is required.
  • Professional experience in an international organisation within the UN common system or similar organisations is desirable.
  • Proven professional experience in warehouse operations is desirable.
  • Proven experience in dealing with vendors and administration of contracts is desirable.
Qualifications

Advanced university degree in business administration, logistics operations or supply chain management. A first level university degree in combination with two (2) additional years of qualifying experience is accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Languages Required
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, French or English is required.
Languages Preferred
Working knowledge of the other working language (French or English) is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is considered an asset.
Contract Duration
Two-year appointment with the possibility of extension (six months probationary period).
