Overview

The Associate Administrative Officer supports the Regional Hub for Central and West Africa in administrative functions including human resource management, planning, budgeting, and implementation of business functions.


Key Responsibilities
  • Undertakes actions related to human resource activities such as recruitment, placement, promotion, performance appraisal, job classification reviews, separation of staff, and training.
  • Provides information regarding conditions of service, duties, responsibilities, privileges, and entitlements.
  • Assists in developing the unit’s work program and budget, and monitors budget/work program.
  • Supports the implementation of financial database procedures and systems.
  • Contributes to the development of budgetary guidelines.
  • Supervises support staff as required.
  • Performs other related administrative duties, including operational travel, monitoring accounts and payments, physical space planning, and office technology needs.
  • Performs procurement related tasks including contract management, equipment purchases and maintenance.
  • Performs logistics tasks.
  • Participates in UN coordination platforms.
Required Experience

A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in administration, finance, accounting, human resources management or related area is required. Experience working on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Umoja or another SAP-based application is required. Experience working within the United Nations common system or similar international organization is desirable.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
