Overview

The HR Intern will support the implementation and coordination of key people and culture initiatives, with a focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Strategy and Action Plan, Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) initiatives, and Gender Action Plans.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the implementation and monitoring of the ESAMCO DEI Strategy Action Plan.
  • Assisting with PSEAH, Gender, DEI, and related working groups.
  • Supporting awareness campaigns, engagement activities, workshops, and learning initiatives.
  • Assisting in tracking and following up on action plans.
  • Supporting data collection, reporting, meeting coordination, documentation, and communication activities.
  • Contributing to initiatives that promote an inclusive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture.
  • Follow up on classification of ToRs.
  • Checking format and quality of ToRs.
  • Conducting and following up on reference checks.
  • Ensuring completion of mandatory courses by personnel.
  • Processing interview reports and other HR reports.
  • Follow up on approvals for contract extensions.
  • Follow up on budget lines with hiring units during recruitment.
  • Liaising with the 3rd party recruitment agency on issuance of contracts and contract extensions.
  • Logistical assistance in planning, organizing and preparation of interviews, trainings and other relevant events.
  • Support the identification and documentation of best practices and lessons learnt.
  • Maintenance of personnel records for all personnel.
  • Maintenance of training database.
  • Provide assistance in the longlisting and shortlisting process.
Required Experience

Desired: Some experience in gender development related work, human resources, organizational culture, gender equality, safeguarding, inclusion, and people-focused development initiatives or related fields would be an asset.

Qualifications

Minimum First level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in Human Resources, Gender studies, Development studies, Business Administration or a related field, or be enrolled in a postgraduate program or have graduated from such studies within three (3) years prior to the start date of the intern assignment.
