Overview

Seeking a Local Migration Consultant to map and engage the Albanian diaspora in the UK for the design of a Diaspora Investment Mechanism. The role involves generating evidence on diaspora profiles, motivations, and barriers to inform outreach and participation.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mapping of the Albanian diaspora in the United Kingdom and segment diaspora profiles, including investors, professionals, mentors, and philanthropists.
  • Analyse trust, motivations, perceptions, and behavioural barriers to diaspora investment and engagement through qualitative research, including surveys and focus group discussions.
  • Contribute to the design of diaspora participation, advisory, governance, and KPI arrangements within the Diaspora Investment Mechanism.
  • Map and document a minimum of 40 UK-based Albanian diaspora profiles, disaggregated by gender.
  • Support stakeholder consultations at the municipal and local level.
  • Contribute to diaspora engagement mechanisms within DIM governance structures.
  • Support the design of diaspora participation and advisory mechanisms within the DIM governance framework.
  • Contribute to the development of key performance indicators related to diaspora engagement and participation.
Required Experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in migration research, diaspora engagement, social research, stakeholder consultations, or related analytical and advisory work.
  • Demonstrated experience in diaspora mapping, profiling, and qualitative analysis.
  • Experience conducting qualitative research, including semi-structured interviews, surveys, and focus group discussions, as well as developing discussion guides, probing, and documenting findings accurately.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Albanian migration dynamics and diaspora engagement, particularly in relation to the United Kingdom, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting participatory governance mechanisms, advisory structures, or stakeholder engagement processes is an advantage.
  • Experience contributing to results frameworks, KPI development, or monitoring approaches related to participation and engagement is an advantage.
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in migration studies, social sciences, international relations, public policy, development studies, economics, sociology, anthropology, or a related field from an accredited academic institution.
