Overview
The Gender Based Violence Information Management Officer will support the GBV AoR in ensuring a robust and well-functioning information management system for GBV response, promoting ethical data management standards. The role involves collecting, analysing, and disseminating data related to GBV and sectoral response to enable evidence-based coordination and response.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the GBV AoR in developing/updating the IM strategy, defining data collection, collation, analysis, and sharing processes, including ethical and safety standards.
- Conduct mapping of actors and multi-sectoral GBV service providers, identifying referral mechanisms and service details.
- Analyse service mapping data to identify gaps and assist in developing mechanisms to address them.
- Manage information flows and dissemination, including contact lists, shared repositories, and humanitarian websites.
- Support GBVIMS roll-out and organise systems for information exchange on GBV standards, assessments, and coordination.
- Represent the GBV AoR in Information Management Working Group meetings and collaborate with relevant clusters and stakeholders.
- Contribute to advocacy and communication materials to highlight GBV needs, response gaps, and financial requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to national GBV AoR members and partners.
- Conduct capacity building surveys and facilitate IM capacity building support for GBV AoR partners.
- Develop/update guidance notes on the GBV AoR 4W monitoring tool.
- Identify/update GBV AoR information needs and appropriate methods/data sources for strategic decisions and response planning.
- Ensure GBV specific indicators and questions are integrated into inter-agency assessments.
- Map and review qualitative and quantitative secondary data sources to assist GBV needs analysis.
- Participate in GBV-related assessments to provide technical support on methodologies and ethical considerations.
- Support review and adaptation of GBV rapid assessment tools.
- Consolidate and analyse information/data on GBV-related needs, vulnerability, and capacities.
- Support the GBV AoR in conducting analysis of needs severity and calculating people in need (PiN).
- Represent the GBV AoR in joint intersectoral needs analysis teams.
- Support the GBV AoR in developing/revising its response monitoring plan and establishing data management tools.
- Work with GBV AoR partners to maintain timely monitoring and reporting practices.
- Collect, compile, and clean weekly GBV 4W data and share with relevant partners.
- Prepare and share GBV AoR updates/inputs for humanitarian situation reports and response monitoring dashboards.
- Develop and disseminate regular information management products such as dashboards and maps.
- Provide presentations/briefings on IM products and data analysis during GBV AoR coordination meetings.
- Provide accurate, complete, and up-to-date information for budget preparation, programme design, implementation, management, and evaluation.
- Support quality data collection on GBV by implementing partners for UNFPA programme monitoring.
- Liaise with external stakeholders on data collection in humanitarian settings.
- Ensure use of updated digital tools, including AI, while abiding by data protection standards.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in areas relevant to Information Management, analysis, and needs assessments.
- Required demonstrable professional experience in the area of Gender-Based Violence Information Management linked to Sub-Sector coordination.
- Required in-depth understanding of current challenges surrounding global tools and guidance on GBV Information Management, in particular processes surrounding the HNO/HRP and inter-agency IM work streams.
Qualifications
Advanced University Degree in computer/data science, statistics, GIS, demography, economics or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a related area.
