Overview

The intern will support the implementation of the Centre's substantive work programme by conducting research, assisting in the preparation of knowledge products, and supporting the organisation of events.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and literature reviews on topics related to technology transfer, climate technologies, innovation systems, renewable energy, artificial intelligence and sustainable development;
  • Assist in the preparation of research papers, policy briefs, analytical reports and other knowledge products;
  • Assist in planning and organising Community of Practice webinars, workshops and virtual events, including logistics, agenda preparation and follow-up;
  • Identify and map relevant experts, institutions and networks for potential collaboration with APCTT;
  • Monitor developments in science, technology and innovation policy relevant to APCTT's mandate and prepare summaries and briefs for APCTT staff;
  • Support the knowledge management functions of the organisation, including document management and resource compilation;
  • Conduct research on the landscape of technology transfer offices across the Asia-Pacific;
  • Other activities as may be decided by the supervisor.
Required Experience

Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the programme but must be computer literate in standard software applications. Familiarity with science, technology and innovation, renewable energy, climate change, artificial intelligence and related issues is desirable. Data handling skills and proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel) are also an asset. Experience in community management, event coordination or academic research is an advantage.

Qualifications
  • Have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher) in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, Climate Change, Environment, Innovation, Sustainable Development, International Relations related to science and technology, or any other related area; or
  • Have graduated with a university degree as defined above and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.

Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.

3 months (minimum three months, extendable up to six months subject to APCTT requirements)

Remuneration
The internship is UNPAID and full-time. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
