Overview

Support the identification, assessment, and monitoring of operational, financial, programmatic, and fraud risks related to the Ebola response. Advise teams on risk mitigation measures and compensatory controls.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the identification, assessment, and monitoring of operational, financial, programmatic, and fraud risks related to the Ebola response.
  • Assist in the establishment and strengthening of internal control mechanisms.
  • Advise programme, operations, and field office teams on risk mitigation measures.
  • Monitor the application of derogations, exceptions, and expedited procedures.
  • Contribute to the early identification of risks related to fraud, abuse, misuse of resources, and non-compliance.
  • Conduct targeted reviews, compliance checks, data analyses, and spot checks.
  • Support the monitoring of implementing partners.
  • Contribute to the preparation of dashboards, risk analyses, monitoring reports, and management briefs.
  • Support awareness-raising and capacity-building activities.
  • Ensure close coordination with relevant teams and field offices.
  • Contribute to the documentation and archiving of evidence related to implemented controls.
  • Support other activities related to risk management, compliance, and internal control frameworks.
Required Experience

At least five (5) years of continuous professional experience in risk management and compliance or in another directly relevant field, including several years in internal audit. Experience in financial management—particularly in the development and implementation of financial control systems, enterprise risk management (ERM), audit and internal control—is highly desirable, preferably within international organizations, NGOs, or the United Nations system. Experience in managing risks related to public health emergency responses, humanitarian programmes, or epidemic responses is considered an asset. Experience within the United Nations system or an international organization is desirable. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher*) in business administration and financial management, operations management, strategic management, risk management, audit, investigation, internal control, statistics, or data analysis.
