Overview

The role involves planning, performing, reporting, and following up on audits and desk-based work to assess plant health control systems and the implementation of EU legislation by Member States and non-EU Countries.


Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, perform, report and follow up on audits and other desk-based work to assess the performance of plant health control systems and the implementation of relevant EU legislation by Member States and non-EU Countries.
  • Carry out audits of Member States and Third Countries in the area of plant health.
Required Experience
  • Direct experience with plant health surveys or inspections would be desirable.
  • Experience with auditing or supervising control systems for plant health and/or protection would be an advantage.
Qualifications
  • A degree in a relevant discipline such as agronomy, plant pathology, biological sciences or equivalent.
  • At least a level of education which corresponds to completed university studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma.

Languages Required
• A strong and proven capacity for teamwork and an ability to analyse and present complex information clearly both in writing and verbally is essential, as is the ability to work in English. • Have a thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU. • AND a satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.

Contract Duration
The duration of the 1st contract will be up to 4 years. The contract might then be extended only once for a maximum of 2 years.

Remuneration
The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances.
