Overview

Support stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization, and project implementation for climate change and environmental initiatives within FAO Rwanda, aligning with national development priorities and global frameworks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical, coordination, and knowledge support on climate and environmental priorities.
  • Contribute to assessments ensuring alignment with national and global frameworks.
  • Develop briefing notes and policy-oriented analytical products.
  • Lead identification and prioritization of investment opportunities.
  • Provide technical inputs to concept notes for climate finance mechanisms.
  • Strengthen the climate rationale of programme proposals.
  • Facilitate high-level engagement with stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and support multi-stakeholder platforms and policy dialogue.
  • Lead strategic identification and mapping of financing opportunities.
  • Develop and contribute to concept notes and project proposals.
  • Strengthen positioning within joint programmes and initiatives.
  • Support evidence-based donor engagement processes.
  • Provide technical oversight and coordination for programme implementation.
  • Monitor programme performance, track results, and contribute to reporting.
  • Ensure programme and project activities align with national policies.
  • Support FAO’s engagement in UN coordination mechanisms.
  • Contribute to joint programme design, results frameworks, and reporting.
  • Ensure FAO inputs are coherent with the UNSDCF and aligned with the UN principle of “Leave No One Behind.”
  • Monitor climate and environment-related interventions through synthesis of programme results.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge products.
  • Document and promote innovative approaches.
  • Ensure systematic integration of gender equality, youth inclusion, environmental safeguards, and digital innovation.
  • Ensure climate and environmental interventions contribute to inclusive, resilient, and sustainable food systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, Climate change, Sustainable Development, International Development, or a related field
