Overview
The role holder will deliver high-quality IT infrastructure support services for telecommunication and network components, ensuring data security, availability, and integrity within the ITIL framework. This position provides technical expertise and advice on global networks, security solutions, and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 3rd level operational support for global networking and telecommunication infrastructure.
- Contribute to the design and deployment of network and telecom solutions.
- Design, install, and maintain corporate LAN, WAN/SD-WAN, VPN, Wireless, VoIP, PSTN networks, and security systems.
- Establish and maintain network asset management processes.
- Ensure service availability and quality through continuous monitoring.
- Develop and evaluate KPIs and SLAs/OLAs.
- Perform security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure an effective monitoring and alerting system is in place.
- Participate in penetration testing activities.
- Build and sustain vendor and business relationships.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and transfer knowledge.
- Lead modernization initiatives and implement cost-efficient solutions.
- Ensure effective functioning of the globally distributed network.
- Advise on best scenarios to accomplish projects' objectives.
- Identify project and systems operational support requirements.
- Proactively manage network and Telecom capacity.
- Maintain compliance with Enterprise Architecture and PMO unit methodologies.
- Proactively identify training needs and innovations.
- Act as a subject matter expert in tender, contract management, and market assessment processes.
- Manage global network and telecommunication infrastructures capacity.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Secretariat departments, business units, and national societies.
- Research, analyze, and suggest innovative technologies.
- Design new and optimize existing network and Telecom Infrastructure standards.
- Support the Enterprise Architecture function with advising on architecture strategies.
- Develop, design, and implement network projects leveraging cloud technologies.
Required Experience
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in administration, setup, and maintenance of data center operations.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in the IT field, with a minimum of 5 years in networking (WAN/SD-WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, VoIP) and Firewall infrastructure design and administration.
- Proven track record in managing large Windows networks, including ADDS/ADFS/ADCS/DNS/DHCP and related services.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in operational maintenance and configuration of hybrid cloud infrastructure (O365, AzureAD, AzureAD Connect, Web Application Proxy).
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in the administration, setup, maintenance, and management of Windows Servers, including failover clustering.
- Experience in service management and reporting tools.
- Experience with the implementation, configuration, custom dashboard development, and automation of SIEM systems and alerts (preferred).
- Advanced, hands-on PowerShell skills and experience (advantage).
Qualifications
- Engineering degree in computer sciences discipline or equivalent experience.
- ITIL certification or equivalent experience and proven track record of ITIL usage in an enterprise environment.
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator and Professional) certification is required or equivalent experience with a commitment to obtain such certificates in the foreseeable future.
