Overview

The Protection Assistant - GBV Caseworker will implement GBV case management activities and provide case management services to GBV survivors and other beneficiaries affected by the crisis in Sanja, Ethiopia.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide case management services through high quality and confidential interventions.
  • Conduct referrals to relevant services and ensure follow up.
  • Provide counselling for survivors.
  • Conduct case management in safe spaces.
  • File and store GBV data in the GBVIMS.
  • Provide emotional support group sessions to women and girls.
  • Support in delivering basic GBV trainings to community structures.
  • Raise gaps in GBV response services.
  • Ensure regular quality implementation, monitoring and evaluation of GBV projects.
  • Engage with the community to understand needs and gaps.
  • Incorporate a survivor-centered approach.
  • Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality.
  • Carry out additional protection activities as assigned.
  • Ensure the maintenance and update of case management database.
  • Enter client data on the DRC Case Management IM system or excel forms.
  • Participate in individual supervision sessions.
  • Participate in internal case conferences/technical review of cases, team meetings, training, and workshops.
Required Experience

Minimum of 1 year of experience in protection, preferably with an international humanitarian organization. Experience in case management, referral related activities and awareness is desirable. Field experience in emergency context is highly desirable.

Qualifications

University degree in social work, social science, law or other relevant field from a recognized institution.
