Overview

Provide financial and administrative support for specific GESAMP Working Groups and Task Teams, facilitating their work through secretarial and logistics assistance.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide secretarial and logistics support for GESAMP Working Groups/Task Teams, including preparing contracts, travel arrangements, and meeting documents.
  • Assist Technical Secretaries in managing procurement and financial aspects, maintaining expense accounts using SAP.
  • Maintain filing systems and office records.
  • Prepare requisitions, goods receipts, and travel arrangements using SAP.
  • Provide support for other IMO-led GESAMP working groups as required.
  • Offer secretarial support for the Marine Pollution Section and Climate Action and Clean Air Section.
  • Perform other related duties to support specific subdivisions and the GESAMP Office.
Required Experience

At least 5 years’ experience in secretarial or administrative work, preferably within an International Organization.

Qualifications

Secondary education up to University entrance standard.

Languages Required
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in English (oral and written) including ability to draft clearly and concisely is essential.
Languages Preferred
Knowledge of any other UN language, particularly French or Spanish, would be an asset.
Contract Duration
The first year of contract will be probationary with the possibility of further extension subject to satisfactory performance.

Remuneration
Approximately £43,490 net per annum, (subject to deductions), free of income tax in the UK. Excellent benefits including medical insurance and UN pension scheme.
