Overview
The Communications Intern will support the Communications Officer in developing communication activities in Guatemala or Zacapa, focusing on digital content and campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the communication team in generating content and digital campaigns for UNOPS social media in Spanish.
- Assist in creating and writing Spanish content for UNOPS social media posts, ensuring brand guidelines are met.
- Support in designing graphics and audiovisual elements for social media and other channels, maintaining visual identity consistency.
- Assist in scheduling social media posts (Twitter and Facebook) about UNOPS projects in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Measure the performance of social media posts and other communication actions, generating analysis reports and recommendations.
- Assist in preparing proposals for informative graphic materials, such as infographics and brochures.
- Support in preparing graphic and audiovisual materials for regional meetings and/or events.
- Collaborate in the production of graphic and audiovisual content to disseminate key organizational messages.
- Support in managing the communication dashboard.
- Provide support in internal and external communication processes and activities.
- Participate in relevant meetings and events, keeping adequate records of minutes, decisions, and agreed actions.
- Contribute to the organization of communication events, conferences, webinars, or other promotional activities.
- Contribute to content development processes for internal and/or external publications.
- Collaborate in identifying dissemination and promotion opportunities for the organization's initiatives.
- Support the updating of UNOPS digital platforms in Spanish.
- Support in translating documents into English when required.
- Support media monitoring and regional news clipping.
- Undertake other additional activities as designated by supervisors.
Required Experience
This opportunity does not require prior work experience. Experience in internships or volunteer work will be valued. Experience in social and/or development communication; digital communication or in design teams in the public, private, or international organizations sector will be valued. If prior experience exists, a portfolio with examples of communication materials produced must be attached. Familiarity with design and/or audiovisual editing programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, among others, will be valued.
Qualifications
Must be currently pursuing or have graduated (within a maximum of three years of application) from university programs at the licenciatura level, preferably in communication, public relations, graphic design, or related fields. Being in the last two years of study or holding a university degree at the licenciatura or master's level, preferably in the aforementioned fields, will be valued - maximum three years of graduation at the time of application.
