Overview

The Full Stack Software Engineer will support the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of global DTM applications, primarily the DTM Data Kit.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, deploy and maintain DTM applications with hands-on responsibility for the .NET (C# / ASP.NET Core) back end and the Angular front end.
  • Utilize Microsoft Azure services to build, deploy, secure and operate cloud-based solutions.
  • Plan application architecture design workshops.
  • Provide expert support to outsourced project partners.
  • Design and manage databases using Cosmos DB and SQL DB.
  • Support the development and maintenance of APIs for web services.
  • Participate in and conduct mandatory code reviews.
  • Participate in the writing of unit tests and assist in debugging issues.
  • Work with developers, designers, vendors and DevOps to deliver robust and reliable software solutions.
  • Create technical documentation for codebases, processes, and system architectures and training materials.
  • Engage in agile development processes.
Required Experience
  • Five years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree; or seven years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
  • Extensive hands-on experience building production applications with a .NET (C# / ASP.NET Core) back end and an Angular front end;
  • Extensive experience in application development and maintenance for cloud based solutions;
  • Extensive experience architecting, administering and securing solutions on Microsoft Azure;
  • Extensive experience in Database development (SQL and No SQL) and maintenance;
  • Extensive experience in API development;
  • Experience in user-friendly application design;
  • Extensive experience in front-end development using modern JavaScript frameworks (React and/or Angular);
  • Experience in data migration using tools such as Azure Data Factory;
  • Experience in the use of DevOps for technical delivery;
  • Experience in Agile development techniques.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Development with concentration in technology applications or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or, University degree in the above fields.

Languages Required
Fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Languages Preferred
At least a working knowledge of another language (including one of the six official UN languages, and/or a language that may be widely spoken in the country context) is desirable. Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
