Overview

The European Commission is seeking a Policy Coordinator in DG MOVE to support the implementation of the Social Climate Fund, focusing on addressing transport poverty in the EU.


Key Responsibilities
  • Participating in the processes for the design, negotiation, and execution of national social climate plans.
  • Providing analyses of transport poverty situation in Member States and assessing their transport-related investment needs.
  • Assessing costing estimates of transport related measures and investments proposed in the national plans.
  • Engaging with national authorities and providing technical guidance for plans preparation, assessment and implementation.
  • Monitoring progress and checking the delivery by Member States of milestones and targets under their national plans.
  • Contributing to the European Semester policy development and ensuring coordination with other Commission services in the area of transport investments.
  • Potentially undertaking other tasks related to preparations for the next Multiannual Financial Framework and transport investments in general.

Qualifications

• Completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.

Languages Required
• A thorough knowledge (minimum level C1) of one of the 24 official languages of the EU. • A satisfactory knowledge (minimum level B2) of a second official language of the EU, to the extent necessary for the performance of the duties.

Contract Duration
The duration of the first contract will be 1 year. Subject to the interest of the service, the contract may be renewed one or more times up to a maximum duration of 6 years.

Remuneration
The grade or proposed grade range, as well as the step in that grade, will be defined on the basis of the candidates’ previous professional experience. The pay of staff members consists of a basic salary supplemented with specific allowances, including, where applicable, expatriation and family allowances.
