The volunteer will participate to activities linked to : -helping the Roma community in the city (interpreting and translating documents to facilitate communication with French social workers) -reducing the digital divide and helping people to have access to phones and computers -organizing Romanian language workshops with French social workers Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Accommodation, food and transportation will be provided by the city. Volunteers will be accommodated in fully equipped private apartments. Food costs will be covered. A transport card will be provided for travel within the Nantes metropolitan area. Training during the activity During the first 3 months after their arrival, the volunteers will follow an intensive French course in order to be quickly ready to evolve in a French-speaking environment. They will be under the supervision of a tutor and colleagues during the activities, who will train them to be able to carry their missions effectively. Volunteers are registered to the seminars organized by the French National Agency (arrival and mid-term trainings) where they meet with other volunteers from the region. Participant profile We are looking for Romanian speakers, with interpersonal skills, motivated to get involved in this particular project and more globally in a solidarity project. We do not require volunteers to know French, but they should be able to communicate in English.
