Overview

This internship position supports the daily communications work of the Corruption and Financial Crime Branch. The intern will assist with tracking, researching, analyzing information, drafting content, and developing graphics.


Key Responsibilities
  • Tracking, researching and analyzing information on assigned topics, gathering information from diverse sources and helping assess news value and other potential impact;
  • Drafting web stories and social media posts;
  • Assisting with the implementation of the Section’s communication campaigns;
  • Developing graphics for social media and the website;
  • Creating monthly social media reports;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
  • Meeting of the below additional requirements is desirable: (c) be enrolled in a graduate school programme in journalism, communications, digital communications, media studies, filmmaking, graphic design or related field (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (d) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme in journalism, communications, digital communications, media studies, filmmaking, graphic design or related field (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); or (e) have graduated with a university degree in journalism, communications, digital communications, media studies, filmmaking, graphic design or related field.
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications;
  • Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter;
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Remuneration
Internships are UNPAID and full-time (40 hours, 5 days per week). Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
