Overview

The consultant will provide expertise in computer programming and database development for the Stockholm Convention and Basel Convention electronic reporting systems and dashboards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Functional enhancement of the SC ERS to generate accurate, fully formatted Word/DOCX reports across all UN languages.
  • Updating of the SC Reporting Dashboard to accurately reflect Sixth Reporting Cycle data.
  • Bug fixing and functional enhancements for the SC ERS and Dashboard.
  • Updating of the Basel Convention Reporting Dashboard for improved performance and data visualization.
  • Functional enhancements and bug fixing for the BC ERS.
  • Updating of the BC Import and Export Control Tool to reflect national reports and improve visualization.
  • Enhancement of the user-friendliness of the BC Import and Export Control Tool.
  • Technical documentation related to processes and changes made for tasks A, B and C.
  • Technical documentation of new reporting cycle of BC ERS.
Required Experience

At least five years of experience in system analysis and design as well as computer programming, including advanced programming skills in MS VB and C# for .NET platform is required. Experience in the development and configuration of web applications using Microsoft Office, JQuery, Kendo UI, websites content management systems such as DotNetNuke, MS SQL and relational database and MS Dynamic CRM design is required. Knowledge of Data Illusion feedback server technology and the Electronic reporting Systems of the Basel and Stockholm Conventions is desirable. Experience in developing queries/reports using the technology Telerik Suite is desirable. Working experience in the United Nations or similar international organizations is desirable.

Qualifications

An advanced university degree in the area of computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent is required. A first level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
