Overview
The Migration Health Physician will ensure the efficient daily operations of the Migration Health Assessment Center (MHAC) and coordinate the migration health assessment process.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and conduct migration health assessments including medical examinations, imaging, laboratory testing, vaccinations, TB management, treatment and referrals, pre-departure procedures, documentation, certification and information transmission.
- Ensure proper identification of refugees and migrants and record relevant health information.
- Oversee and coordinate the management of TB cases and sexually transmitted infections, and provide support to HIV, TB and STI counselling.
- Oversee and coordinate immunization and presumptive treatment programmes.
- Contribute to and maintain a system of quality improvement for each service area within the MHAC.
- Ensure implementation of global IOM SOPs and create and implement DUSHANBE MHAC specific SOPs.
- Organize systematic collection, processing and analyses of migration health data.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the MHAC, including budget preparation and review of financial reports.
- Coordinate the procurement of medical equipment, vaccines, medications and other supplies.
- Prepare administrative reports and program updates.
- Support the planning and execution of mobile missions.
- Perform medical escort duties when required.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with various partners.
Required Experience
- At least four years of professional work experience;
- Professional continuous clinical experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary hospital setting. The last clinical posting should be within the last three years;
- Good knowledge of clinical medicine;
- Knowledge of patient safety and infection prevention and control.
Qualifications
- University degree in Medicine from an accredited academic institution;
- Valid license to practice in Tajikistan is mandatory.
