Overview

The Content Development Manager is responsible for coordinating with participating organizations to build, maintain, and update an information database. The database will collect, curate, and develop information products on available services and humanitarian/development activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure effective function and use of the content management system and other information database tools.
  • Ensure accessibility to information within the database.
  • Ensure information within the database system is protected and accessed in line with relevant data protection and privacy SOPs and standards.
  • Support the identification of information required for function and to ensure effective information provision.
  • Develop and manage systems/processes to regularly plan for, collect, and update required information.
  • Identify need for new content/information, and usher content from first draft through editing and translation to final published form(s).
  • Conduct regular analysis on information needs and produce analyses and reports.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and guidance to subordinates.
  • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of team workplans, monitor progress against project objectives, and provide regular coaching, mentoring and performance feedback.
  • Foster collaboration across team members, promote effective communication, and ensure efficient coordination with other stakeholders.
  • Support staff capacity development by identifying learning needs and facilitating training opportunities.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Required Experience

Minimum 5 years knowledge mgmt./editing experience required; sub-editing/copy editing experience strongly desired. Experience using CMS, knowledge of online content best practices, knowledge of social media strategy and content best practices. Experience in a newsroom and/or humanitarian organization desired. Qualifications

BA/BS in Journalism, Communications or a field in the humanities desired but not required.

English: Professional working proficiency (both written and verbal communication). Burmese: Proficiency (both written and verbal communication).
Languages Preferred
Proficiency in other ethnic languages is preferable.

The Position will be based in Yangon, Myanmar with less than 20% of travel to the different locations in Myanmar.
