Overview

Provide analytical and technical support in benefits policy development and administration, plan analysis, modelling and valuation, and secretariat functions for retirement and post-retirement benefit programs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative, legal, or financial analysis and support the development, justification, and implementation of SRP/DCP policy proposals.
  • Perform actuarial, financial, and demographic modelling and analysis of the SRP, DCP, and post‑retirement medical programs.
  • Collect, reconcile, and prepare data for actuarial valuations and prepare ad-hoc reports.
  • Support SRP/DCP secretariat work, including preparation of analyses, studies, policies, memoranda, reports, minutes, and materials for committee and bilateral meetings.
  • Support actuarial valuation processes and prepare membership, discretionary benefits (XB), and disbursement data.
  • Support delivery of benefit information sessions and preparation annual reports, knowledge articles, announcements, and other communications.
  • Provide support to Pension Administration and Investment Team.
  • Provide operational and administrative support, improve IT processes, calculation procedures and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Experience

At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in actuarial functions, pension fund, international (re)insurance, risk management firms, banking operations, administration or accounting. Experience in relevant fields may also be considered. Experience in quantitative analysis and in preparing, reviewing, and editing reports, policy, memoranda, and other written outputs in English. Proficiency in digital tools for data entry, extraction, validation, reconciliation, and reporting, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with actuarial, risk management, or asset-liability management systems, and coding or scripting for automation and modeling. Experience identifying process gaps and implementing improvements, including streamlining workflows, introducing automation, and documenting controls. Project management skills. Knowledge of business protocols, formats and standards relevant to the role. Experience managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders, handling confidential information, and escalating issues with clear supporting recommendations. Good general understanding of our organization's purpose.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related fields; actuarial training or Master's degree is preferred.

Contract Duration
an initial fixed-term appointment for an initial fixed period of 3 years. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may, at the option of ADB, be extended once for up to 2 years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended on its expiration date.
