Overview

The Communications Analyst is responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of UN Women's communications and advocacy strategies to increase awareness among partners, the media, and the public.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide substantive support to the implementation of external communication and outreach/advocacy strategies and plans.
  • Coordinate and contribute substantively to the development and dissemination of advocacy materials.
  • Coordinate media relations for the MCO.
  • Build and maintain partnerships and maintain relations with donors.
  • Support coordination of the MCO’s web/ online presence.
  • Support knowledge management and documentation of communications activities.
Required Experience

At least one (1) year (Masters), or minimum of three (3) years (Bachelors Degree) of progressively responsible work experience at national or international level in public relations, communications or advocacy is required. Experience in social media usage and management and digital content creation is required. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.), spreadsheet and database packages, experience in handling of web-based management systems is required.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in communications, public relations, journalism or relevant field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
