Overview
The role advises and assists the Chief Field Health Programme in planning, programme development, management, and supervision of all health programme activities. It is responsible for coordination, integration, and oversight of technical functions and day-to-day administration of the Field Health Programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Advises and assists the Chief Field Health Programme in planning, programme development, management and supervision of all health programme activities.
- Makes recommendations and proposals to improve the quality of health programme as well as organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Is responsible for coordination, integration and oversight of technical functions of Division Heads reporting to him/her and for the day-to-day administration of the Field Health Programme.
- Provides technical guidance to ensure and supervises the effective implementation of the Technical Instructions.
- Finalizes all Health Programme reports.
- Is directly responsible for the implementation, supervision and evaluation of the Medical Care Services in the Field.
- Plans and directs in-service training for all health staff assigned to the Medical Care Services Division.
- Ensures medical supply and equipment operations are properly managed at the health centres.
- Manages the budget preparation of the Field Health Programme.
- Coordinates with HR for all related staffing issues.
- Directs the implementation and management of all assigned projects in the HP.
- Contributes to identifying areas of improvements for health projects.
- Maintains good working relations with concerned officials in governmental, non-governmental and subsidized or contracted health institutions.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned which includes acting for the Chief, Field Health Programme in the latter's absence.
Required Experience
At least eight years of progressively responsible relevant professional working experience in a public health administration, is required of which at least three years should have been in a supervisory health position, is required.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in public health. A university degree from an accredited educational institution in medicine including an internship of at least twelve-month duration. A license to practice medicine in the country of duty station.
