Overview
The role supports the planning, implementation, and supervision of infrastructure projects, ensuring construction activities align with contract terms, schedules, and costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical input to project work plans, financial flows, and progress estimates.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with execution programs, technical specifications, and contractual obligations.
- Conduct inspections to verify measurements, progress estimates, and identify deviations.
- Review and prepare construction budgets and variations.
- Verify contractor progress, prepare and review Interim Payment Certificates (IPCs).
- Review change orders and cost claims.
- Support timely delivery of site progress reports, updates, and construction milestone documentation.
- Coordinate with end-users, contractors, consultants, and local authorities.
- Organize and participate in project meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on action points.
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations of the supervisory and construction companies.
- Monitor progress and report deviations from approved schedules and work plans.
- Provide updates on inspection and testing plans.
- Prepare technical and progress reports highlighting achievements, delays, risks, and financial updates.
- Support project administration, procurement, and logistics.
- Contribute to contract management and asset management.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, financial data, and correspondence.
- Identify administrative or operational bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
- Support the organization and facilitation of training and learning sessions.
- Participate in knowledge sharing initiatives.
Required Experience
- 2 to 6 years of relevant experience (depending on academic credentials) in schedule and cost management during the construction phase of buildings, construction supervision, or vertical infrastructure project management.
- Experience in schedule and cost control in construction projects.
- Demonstrable proficiency in using collaboration and productivity tools (e.g., Ms Project, MS Office, G-Suite, etc.) and web-based management systems.
- Desirable: Experience in BIM Management in construction contracts and/or cost management.
- Desirable: Experience working in multicultural environments or UN system organizations in a developing country.
- Desirable: Experience in development or humanitarian aid contexts.
- Desirable: Experience in project documentation, report writing, and technical communication.
Qualifications
- Required: Secondary education (or equivalent) with 6 years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Architecture or Engineering related to infrastructure construction, with 2 years of relevant experience.
- Desirable: Recognized professional certification or membership in BIM management or construction cost estimating software, either nationally or internationally.
