Overview

The Supply Chain Assistant (Asset Management) will support the implementation and strengthening of asset and inventory management processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping and compliance with procurement rules and regulations.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Supply Officer in implementing and strengthening asset and inventory management processes.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and accurate asset register for all the mission’s assets.
  • Conduct physical inventory, reconcile discrepancies, and update records.
  • Manage the full asset lifecycle: receipt, tagging, assignment, return, transfer, and disposal.
  • Prepare and submit timely asset and inventory reports.
  • Convene and support the Asset Disposal Committee (ADC).
  • Support the coordination of assets maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist in procuring services related to security and facility management.
  • Draft, issue, and monitor service contracts.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support.
  • Act as Bid Receipt Focal Point for receiving and handling tenders.
  • Prepare procurement monitoring reports, documentation, and requests for payment.
Required Experience

Two years of relevant professional experience with a university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field; or four years of relevant professional experience with a high school diploma. Experience in procurement and logistics and working with vendors and service providers; Experience with asset management process; Experience working with IOM/UN Procurement and Logistics Rules and Procedures is an advantage; Experience in warehouse management will be an added advantage; Experience working in an international organisation an advantage.

Qualifications

University degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or High school diploma. Certification in Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an advantage.

Knowledge of a second official UN language is desirable.
