Overview
The Head of Resources Management Unit serves as a core member of the senior management team and the principal advisor to the Chief of Mission on strategic resource management, financial sustainability, operational governance, enterprise risk management, and operational risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, liquidity management, and financial reporting.
- Provide oversight to all aspects of human resources in line with the Department of Human Resources’ overall vision and guidance.
- Support the Chief of Mission (CoM) and programmatic counterparts in managing risks across the portfolio.
- Provide strategic oversight of, supply chain, ICT, and administrative services, ensuring alignment with financial strategies.
- Provide functional oversight of Country Office ICT services and assets.
- Lead, manage, and develop a multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral operations team.
- Engage with donors, government counterparts, and UN partners on financial and operational matters.
Required Experience
- Seven years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree or nine years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree.
- Experience in all areas of financial administration including financial management, accounting and budgeting.
- Experience in human resources and Supply Chain.
- Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning system.
- Experience in risk management and internal control frameworks.
- Demonstrated managerial experience, including leading and developing teams, performance management, coaching, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing work culture in complex operational environments.
- Experience in emergency operations an advantage.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation and / or audit an advantage.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management or a related field from an accredited academic institution or Bachelor’s degree in above fields.
- Professional certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is an advantage.
