Overview

Support the implementation of programme activities at field level, ensuring quality and timely delivery of project interventions in line with workplans, budgets, and project priorities. Assist in rolling out the Learning through Play (LtP) Core Package, including teacher training, continuous professional development (CPD), classroom support, and community engagement.


Key Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day implementation of PlayMatters 3.0 activities at school and community levels.
  • Coordinate and schedule activities in collaboration with County/Payam education authorities, schools, and community structures.
  • Assist in organising and delivering teacher training, mentorship sessions, CPD activities, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Track implementation progress against plans, identify delays or challenges, and provide timely updates to supervisors.
  • Support timely distribution of Teaching and Learning Materials (TLMs) and other project inputs.
  • Conduct After-Action Reviews (AARs) following key activities, documenting lessons learned and sharing reports.
  • Work closely with CPD structures, Teacher Training Institutes (TTIs), and local education authorities to support ongoing teacher professional development.
  • Provide on-site coaching, demonstrations, and follow-up support to teachers, school leaders, and school management committees.
  • Facilitate and monitor the application of Learning through Play (LtP) approaches in classroom practice and school routines.
  • Track teacher participation, engagement, and uptake of skills, and support continuous improvement through Teacher Learning Cycles (TLCs).
  • Promote integration of LtP into lesson delivery, school routines, and community engagement activities.
  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess implementation quality, progress, and adherence to standards.
  • Collect, verify, and submit accurate and timely data in line with RMEAL systems and tools.
  • Gather and document feedback from teachers, learners, and communities to inform adaptive programming.
  • Document challenges, lessons learned, and good practices to support learning and evidence generation.
  • Contribute to activity reports, donor reporting inputs, and learning documentation.
  • Participate in assessment, development, and maintenance of implementing partnership relations.
  • Maintain regular coordination with local education authorities, schools, TTIs, and implementing partners.
  • Participate in County/Payam-level coordination meetings and relevant forums, representing PlayMatters as required.
  • Support alignment of project activities with existing education systems, structures, and sector priorities.
  • Strengthening collaboration between schools, communities, government actors, and national partners.
  • Facilitate collaboration, joint troubleshooting, and consensus to ensure integration and harmonization of other sectors, departments during implementation.
  • Support preparation and submission of activity plans, procurement requests, budget inputs, and implementation schedules.
  • Generate and follow up on payment requests and logistical needs to ensure timely implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with IRC policies, donor requirements, and safeguarding standards.
  • Maintain organised and up-to-date project files and records.
Required Experience

A minimum of 2-3 years’ relevant experience in education programming preferably in humanitarian or development contexts. Experience supporting teacher training, continuous professional development (CPD), or school-based education activities. Basic understanding of education systems in South Sudan, including roles of County/Payam education structures and coordination mechanisms. Demonstrated ability to work with communities, teachers, and local stakeholders in diverse and resource-constrained settings. Experience in data collection, reporting, and use of monitoring tools is an added advantage.

Qualifications

Degree from an accredited university in Education, Teacher Education, Social Science, or other relevant field of study
