Overview
The Livelihood Officer will oversee all Livelihood-related activities within the Sponsorship project, coordinating, implementing, and reporting on project intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing livelihood interventions implemented through partners.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and capacity strengthening to partner staff.
- Support partner-led community outreach and beneficiary engagement activities.
- Monitor partner performance through field visits, regular review meetings, and progress monitoring.
- Oversee the quality of livelihood interventions, including life skills, employability and business skills training, vocational training, entrepreneurship support, business plan assessments, seed funding, and post-grant business follow-up.
- Strengthen partnerships with private sector actors, vocational training providers, and other stakeholders.
- Lead sustainability and exit planning by supporting partners to institutionalize approaches, strengthen local ownership, and establish linkages.
- Collaborate with technical sectors, including Child Protection, Education, Health and MEAL, to promote integrated programming and effective referral pathways.
- Review partner work plans, reports, and deliverables.
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, monitoring, reporting, learning, and documentation of good practices and lessons learned.
- Represent Save the Children in coordination meetings, partner review sessions, and technical forums.
- Document livelihood interventions/activities, lessons learnt and experience resulting from the project.
- Contribute to the writing of regular and ad hoc reports related to the livelihood sector.
- Coordinate with MEAL person to support in project assessment activities.
- Compile concise quantitative and qualitative reports on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Support in quality budget phasing, monitoring, and utilization, participates in cost/benefit assessment for all Livelihood activities.
Required Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in livelihoods, poverty reduction programming in a reputed organization or NGO. Previous work with refugees/asylum seekers or displaced migrants is a must.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in development, economics, commerce, international development or a related field.
