Overview
The Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Project Officer will implement activities to address food insecurity, supervise program activities, and monitor cash distribution in Taiz governorate.
Key Responsibilities
- Sensitize local authorities and communities to project objectives, activities, and selection criteria.
- Review and develop beneficiary selection criteria.
- Organize and run community meetings and workshops.
- Participate in the design and implementation of cash assistance.
- Conduct beneficiary selection and verification.
- Ensure timely cash distributions.
- Support beneficiaries in receiving cash assistance.
- Develop project implementation plans with communities.
- Carry out initial site assessments.
- Manage cash distribution processes.
- Conduct training for community development committees and FSP.
- Mentor and coach FSL project assistants.
- Coordinate with other project officers and NGOs.
- Support integration with WASH and health & nutrition activities.
- Compile and write weekly and monthly progress reports.
Required Experience
Three years of experience working with international NGOs. Four years of experience with SCI working in food security and livelihoods activities (e.g., food/commodity vouchers, food/cash distributions, vocational skills training, agricultural/livestock projects, etc.).
Qualifications
University degree in social science, economics, agriculture, geography, or another discipline relevant to food security and livelihoods.
