Overview

The Health and Nutrition Community Mobilization Officer is responsible for ensuring the implementation of SCI ICCM activities related to health and nutrition programs, planning and monitoring community health and nutrition activities, and leading teams to respond to community needs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in conducting community mobilization meetings for the selection of community volunteers.
  • Work closely with community mobilizer Officers in conducting community level meetings for volunteer selection.
  • Participate with technical guidance of program officers in training community volunteers.
  • Ensure community volunteers assess, classify and treat malaria, pneumonia, and diarrhoea correctly.
  • Train MTMSG and CHNVs.
  • Assess the competency of community volunteers in treating the 3 diseases.
  • Provide feedback on performance to community volunteers.
  • Provide on-job training to community volunteers.
  • Prepare and conduct bi-monthly supervision plans.
  • Identify and document challenges faced by community volunteers.
  • Manage challenges identified with community volunteers.
  • Forecast and supply medicines and supplies to community volunteers.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with community volunteers.
  • Report all CHNVs, MTMSG, and ICCM activities and total reach.
  • Verify the quality of data reported by CHVs.
  • Participate in developing Community volunteer guidelines.
  • Document and share lessons learned, achievements and successes.
  • Collect and revise monthly reports from community health volunteers.
  • Develop monthly narrative achievement reports.
  • Conduct monthly meetings with community health volunteers.
  • Take any other relevant task given by the supervisor.
  • Embed counter-fraud and ethical controls in all operational processes.
Required Experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing community volunteers.
  • Extensive work experience in Social work with focus on community development and mobilization.
Qualifications

Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery, Public Health, Nutrition, Midwifery, Nursing or any equivalent field with experience in developing public and primary health care.
