Overview
This role is for a Senior Knowledge Broker focused on Civic Space in Asia, aiming to animate learning initiatives and engagements. The position involves analysis, knowledge product creation, and providing strategic advice.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and maintain communication among members of the Asia Civic Space Working Group.
- Design and coordinate regional and global learning events.
- Foster peer-to-peer learning among Oxfam staff, partners and civic space practitioners.
- Lead the collection, synthesis and dissemination of knowledge, evidence and emerging trends relating to civic space across Asia.
- Conduct in-depth analysis, produce high-quality briefs and other knowledge products.
- Produce analytical briefs, learning papers, case studies, knowledge products and reports.
- Capture and document lessons learned, best practices, innovations and evidence.
- Curate and maintain relevant civic space resources, tools and learning materials.
- Act as a key liaison between Oxfam in Nepal, Asia CSWG, the Civic Space Knowledge Hub and other relevant networks.
- Strengthen collaboration with the Rights in Digital Age Network and other thematic and regional platforms.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with country teams, partners, civil society organizations, academic institutions and external networks.
- Facilitate information sharing and collaboration between internal and external stakeholders.
- Support countries with technical and knowledge-related requests.
- Support implementation of regional civic space initiatives, tools and learning frameworks at country level.
- Provide technical support for civic space monitoring, documentation and analysis activities.
- Facilitate discussions and learning processes on emerging civic space challenges, opportunities and trends.
- Support countries and partners to strengthen evidence-based influencing and civic space programming.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen regional collaboration, innovation and learning.
- Represent Oxfam in relevant external learning platforms, networks and forums.
- Engage with external stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration, learning and strategic partnerships.
- Contribute to concept notes, proposals and resource mobilisation initiatives.
- Bring new ideas, innovations and external perspectives into regional learning and influencing discussions.
Required Experience
- Minimum five years of professional experience in knowledge management, learning facilitation, communications, networking, influencing or programme management within development, humanitarian or human rights sectors.
- Demonstrated and deep knowledge and understanding of civic space, governance, civil society strengthening, active citizenship and rights-based approaches.
- Proven experience facilitating communities of practice, learning networks and multi-stakeholder engagement processes.
- Experience working on civic space, governance, digital rights or civil society strengthening initiatives.
- Experience designing and facilitating workshops, webinars, learning events and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Experience using digital collaboration and knowledge management platforms and tools.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in social sciences, Development Studies, Political Science, Communications, Knowledge Management, International Development or related field.
